During the week patients in pain or in an emergency situation should call the office immediately. Every effort will be made to schedule an appointment as soon as possible that day. During the weekends and holidays, if our patients require urgent advice outside of our business hours, they can call 705-739-1515 to obtain an emergency telephone number for the dentist on call.

Appointment Scheduling

We understand that you have a busy schedule and recognize the need to provide an efficient and flexible service. We will make every effort to see you at your scheduled appointment time. Our dental receptionists are available by phone or in person throughout the day to arrange appointments and help with any administration inquiries. If you are unable to keep an appointment please give wherever possible at least 48 hours notice. This allows us to make alternative arrangements and run efficiently.

Disabled Access

The practice is able to offer disabled access.

Payment Options

We understand that patients may have concerns or are unsure of the costs involved in modern dentistry. It is our aim to be sensitive to your concerns and explain what is involved in all aspects of your treatment including the financial side.

We accept Visa, Mastercard and all major debit cards. We prefer that all fees are settled at the end of each session, if you would prefer to pay in a different manner please feel free to discuss this with our office manager or one of our reception staff. Many of our patients are covered by dental insurance plans, our administrative staff will complete all the paperwork for you and send your claim electronically whenever possible. Most insurance companies allow us to collect assignment ; however, depending on your personal plan it may require you to pay us and then claim your reimbursement from the insurance company.

Fee Guide

Huronia Dental follows the Ontario Dental Association current year fee guide.

First Visit

We welcome you to Huronia Dental.

On your first visit, we ask you to arrive to the practice 10 minutes before your appointment time; this is so you can complete a medical and dental questionnaire. Please rest assured that all information you provide us with will be kept strictly confidential.

You will be called through to meet your Dentist and his/her dental surgery assistant. We take the time to discuss any dental problems you are having and listen to your concerns. Your dentist will also talk through your medical form, discussing any relevant issues. Once we have completed this, we will carry out a thorough dental examination and oral cancer screening, checking your teeth, x-rays, gums and surrounding tissues.

It is very important to us that you understand and are involved in the diagnosis and treatment planning. We will give you a range of treatment options for consideration. We work with you to ensure you are fully informed and thus can make the appropriate choices for your treatment plan under our clinical guidance. We are very open and clear about the cost of proposed treatment, and give every patient a detailed treatment plan with an estimate of costs as requested. In complex cases we may need to gather more detailed information and involve other members of our dental team within the relevant specialty.
